We went across the road to the temple where they were celebrating the 9 emperors of god festival.

The street was decorated and it was a big deal with floats and a week of rituals and festivities.

Everything was set out in 9s. Daoism has a complicated mythology with multi layered heavens and hells.

9 houses for the 9 emperors

Maybe a few of the emperors - not really sure

The emperors were each transported to the river in one of these.

One Sunday arvo there was heaps of drumming going with  this daoist ceremony .

This whole shabang was going on in the street outside our condo.

Don & Yati bought their new addition 'Hunter' around for a visit.
